Dialogue on Bride Price Laws and Policies to improve safety and protection

MIFUMI is a development charity working in Uganda to protect women and children from domestic violence and abuse. We operate shelters, advice centres and a national helpline. MIFUMI is the only NGO globally campaigning on bride price – the payment of cash or cows by a man to the parents of his bride to secure marriage - a harmful practice that increases women’s risk to violence. MIFUMI's case at the Supreme Court outlawed Bride Price refund. We run Mifumi Primary School and Mifumi Health Centre. www.mifumi.org
