In honor of Asian Pacific Islander and South Asian (APISA) Heritage Month, let’s talk about one of the leading Asian-owned, plant-based brands that’s changing the game of tofu while making Crispy Rice Paper Sushi Rolls. Hodo is a plant-based foods company committed to making delicious, healthy, and convenient meat and egg alternatives, including tofu and yuba. They use only the highest quality US-grown, 100% Organic soybeans, full of protein and good fats which is why they are my go-to brand for tofu. As for the recipe, I’ve seen these rice paper sushi rolls trending over the past few months and I see why. The crispy rice paper combined with the sushi-inspired filling is a perfect balance of delicious flavors and texture. I opted to use their Organic Braised Tofu which is already pre-marinated with a five-spice blend and is ready to eat. The Organic Braised Tofu has limited distribution, but it is mostly available in local Northern California and online through Weee! Alternatively, their Extra Firm Tofu can be used as a substitution for the Braised Tofu.
