His Lordship Regrets is a 1938 British comedy film directed by Maclean Rogers and starring Claude Hulbert, Winifred Shotter, Gina Malo and Aubrey Mallalieu. The impoverished Lord Cavender pursues wealthy Mabel van Morgan only to discover himself in love with the apparently penniless Mary. I think there was a follow on film called "His Lordship Goes to Press", 1939.
It was filmed by Nettlefold Studios at Walton on Thames, and appears to be a prequel in a series about "His Lordship" Cavendish. This class based romp of a comedy wears it's period without apology, as each one of the 1930s charactures plays games with the mores of the time. A great example of film from some 80 years ago....
