https://www.autolist.com/news-and-analysis/tesla-model-x-model-s-depreciation
Study is from Autolist, which reviewed data from 35,442 Model S listings and 4,242 Model X listings between Jan. 1, 2012 to Nov. 5, 2018, as well as a total of 1.2 million listings from the luxury sedan segment and 1.7 million listings from the large luxury SUV segment
The Model S and X's resale value was higher than their rivals at the 50,000-mile mark.
In fact, they were better at every point on the two vehicles' depreciation curve, not just 50,000 miles.
For instance, after 50,000 miles the Model S depreciated 27%, while the Mercedes S class declined 33%.
After 50,000 miles, The Model X depreciated 23% while the Ford Lincoln Navigator lost 34% of its value.
Even better, the Model S has improved on its value retention since 2016.
