Abul Hasan, a Bangladeshi poet and journalist born at Barnigram in Tungipara, Gopalganj on 4 August 1947. Abul Hossain Miah was his real name however Abul Hasan was his pen name. Abul Hasan passed SSC in 1963 from Armanitola Government School in Dhaka, and HSC from BM College, Barisal. He could not complete his graduation in English from University of Dhaka. On the contrary, he started working in news section of the Ittefaq in 1969. Next time, the poet became assistant editor of the Ganabangla (1972-73) and Dainik Janapad (1973-74). Feelings of grief, self-abnegation, and loneliness are the main theme of Abul Hasan’s poems. At the same time, the readers see the imaginings of death and ideas of separation. Raja Yay Raja Ase (1972), Ye Tumi Haran Karo (1974) and Prithak Palanka (1975) are his volumes of poems. However, Ora Kayekjan (1988) and Abul Hasaner Galpa Sanggraha (1990) were published after his death. Abul Hasan was awarded Bangla Academy Award (1975) for poetry and the Ekushey Padak (1982) posthumously. Nishangota, Brishti Chihnito Bhalobasha, Pakhi Hoye Jay Pran, Protirakkhar Shokgatha, Banbhumir Chhaya, Badle Jao Kisuta Badlao, Tomar Chibuk Chhobo, Kalima Chhobo Na, Jotsnay Tumi Kotha Bolchho Na Keno, Proshno, Premiker Protiddondi, Banbhumike Balo, Kono Kabbyo Roshik Bondhur Proti, Uchcharonguli Shoker, Ekla Batas are the famous poems written by Abul Hasan.
