Nasal Polyps are the swelling of the inner lining of nose cells due to many reasons. Nasal Polyps are noncancerous swelling that can be easily treated. Symptoms of Nasal Polyps- 1) Blockage of the nose, difficulty in breathing, Sleep Disturbance 2) Running Nose, Post nasal drip 3) Loss of Smell 4) Loss of taste 5) Fascial Pain, Headache, Snoring, Itching in Eyes Complications of Nasal Polyp-Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Double Vision Causes of Nasal Polyps - Exact reason is not Known. Many theories are given. Risk factors of Nasal Polyps - 1)Aspirin allergy 2) Asthma 3) Allergy to Fungi 4) Hay Fever 5) Cystic Fibrosis 6) Churg Strauss Syndrome Diagnosis of Nasal polyp- 1) Nasal Endoscopy 2) Ct Scan 3)Allergy Test Treatment of Nasal Polyp- 1) Steroid Nasal drop or Nasal spray- These are prescribed if the size of the nasal polyp is small & they are one or two in number. Side Effects - Sore Throat, Headache, Nasal bleeding Example of Steroidf nasal spray - Fluticasone, Budesonide, Mometasone, Beclomethasone 2) Oral steroid tablet -These are prescribed if the size of the nasal polyp is large and if the inflammation inside the nose is very severe. 3) Antihistaminics -They reduce the inflammation of the nose, examples are - Cetrizine, Levocetirizine, Fexofenadine 4)Antibiotics - These prevent bacterial infection in the nose 5) Antifungals -These prevent Fungal infection in the nose Surgical Management of Nasal Polyp- Surgery is done known as functional endoscopic sinus surgery Prevention of reoccurrence of Nasal Polyp- 1) Continue Steroid nasal Drop or Spray even after surgery 2) Avoid a dry environment, use humidifiers 3) Clean nostrils with normal saline 4) KEEP asthma under Control इसलिए इस वीडियो को आखरी तक पूरा देखेंI Watch the whole video and subscribe to our channel to get authentic medical information.
