sabudana khichdi and Thepla with simple and healthy recipe prepared from sago or tapioca pearls and is mainly prepared during the festival seasons like shivaratri or navaratri for fasting. it is one of the main fasting dish from western india, especially from maharashtra, gujarat and rajasthan. This recipe is prepared by soaking the sabudana in water which later sautéed with bolied potatoes, groundnuts, green chillies and cumin. typically it is served mainly during fasting season as it is full of carbohydrates and is essential for fasting and also it can be used in day to day breakfast. Also do watch our latest recipe Banana smoothie /watch/kV22sPCZ0HEZ2 Khandvi recipes /watch/wm3Tg3aF0dPFT Dalgona coffee /watch/QNtxHE30f_x0x INGREDIENTS FOR BOTH RECIPE 1 cup sabudana / tapioca / sago 4 tbsp ghee / oil 1 tsp jeera / cumin 3 green chilli, slit 6 boiled potato / aloo, chopped 6 tbsp peanuts, roasted & crushed 3 tsp sugar ½ tsp salt to taste 2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped ½ lemon 2 tsp cinnamon powder INSTRUCTIONS FOR SABUDANA KHICHDI. firstly, in a large bowl soak 1 cup sabudana in enough water for 3 hours or till it gets mashed up easily. depending on quality of sabudana increase or decrease the soaking time. drain off the sabudana well in a strainer and rest for 30 minutes. prepare the tempering by heating 2 tbsp ghee in a kadai. further add in 1 tsp jeera and saute till they turn aromatic. additionally, add 3 slit green chilli, and ½ boiled and chopped potato. saute for 2 minutes. now add in drained sabudana along with 3 tbsp roasted & crushed peanuts, 1 tsp sugar and ½ tsp salt. combine well making sure not to mash the sabudana. cover and simmer for 3 minutes or until sabudana gets cooked well. sabudana has cooked completely indicated by the pearls turning translucent. furthermore add in 2 tbsp coriander leaves and half lemon juice. mix well. finally, serve sabudana khichdi for breakfast or as a snack. INSTRUCTIONS FOR SABUDANA THEPLA In a large mixing bowl, take soaked and drained sabudana. then finely cut green chillies.1 tablespoon grated ginger.1 tablespoon jeera , 1 tablespoon sugar , 1 tablespoon coriander. now add roasted, deskinned and coarsely crushed peanuts.3 boiled grated potatoes.1 tablespoon cinemmon Powder. 1pcs lemon juice. furthermore, add some salt to taste. also mash well with your hand. make sure to form a non-sticky dough. now take a small ball of dough and start patting over with watery hand. furthermore, pat as thinly as possible. dip your hand in water so that you can spread easily and avoid from having cracks. Grease the tava with oil and gently drop the Thepla upside down over the hot griddle. after few seconds, turn it up till the golden brown color appears additionally, smear some oil over the Thepla and cook on medium flame. flip over and cook both sides. finally, serve the Thepla hot with curd.
